In-Person ALF Core Training
The ALF Core training class is designed for prospective assisted living administrators and individuals interested in learning more about the daily operations of a community.
The in-person training is interactive and informative and is designed to provide participants an understanding of the regulatory requirements involved in operating an assisted living community as well as to prepare participants to successfully complete the ALF Administrator competency exam.
ALF Core training meets the mandatory training required for all ALF Administrators and managers* as required in Florida Statute 429.52 and Florida Administrative Code 59A-36.011. *Refer to Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 59A-36, for information regarding “managers” who are required to complete the ALF Core training.
Many assisted living communities and companies find it helpful to send additional team members and department managers through the training.
- Pre-registration and payment is required to attend. The in-person ALF Core training costs $425 and includes training materials. No refunds will be given for cancellations one week prior to the class.
- Participants are required to complete all sections of the training in order to receive a certificate of completion. Confirmation of course completion is required prior to taking the competency exam.
- Courses are provided by Monica Wilson, Approved ALF Core training provider registered with the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).
- ICE Bridge reserves the right to cancel a class if a minimum number of registrations are not met.

Monica Wilson
Monica Wilson is registered with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) as an Assisted Living Core training provider and with the Florida Department of Elder Affairs as an Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders training provider.
Monica Wilson is an experienced administrator, trainer, facilitator, and educator with a passion for older adults, technology and connecting people and processes. Monica’s ALF Core Competency Exam passage rate year to year is always one of the highest in the state. She currently works with large and small assisted living communities in the areas of licensing and compliance, operations, policy and procedure development, emergency planning and leadership training.
A graduate of the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University's School of Business, Monica holds a Master's degree in Gerontology and is currently an adjunct instructor at Palm Beach State College for the past nine years. She has held various management positions in senior living organizations. As the Assistant Director of the Assisted Living Program for the Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Monica oversaw the statewide training program for ALF Administrators and the development of the initial ALF Core training certification exam. She has provided consultation to other states on assisted living policy.

We Provide ALF Core Training Both Online and in the Classroom.
What is ALF Core Training?
In Florida, assisted living administrators and managers* are required to be certified. Certification includes
- completing a minimum of 26-hours of core training provided by an approved ALF Core training provider and
- successfully passing the state Assisted Living Facility Core Competency exam.
To maintain certification, twelve (12) hours of continuing education in topics related to assisted living must be completed at least every two years.
All assisted living facilities are required to operate under the supervision of a certified assisted living administrator.
Our ALF Core Training programs meet the mandatory training required for all ALF Administrators and managers* and Extended Congregate Care Supervisors as required in Florida Statute 429.52 and Florida Administrative Code 59A-36.011. *Refer to Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 59A-36, for information regarding “managers” who are required to complete the ALF Core training.

Our classroom (in-person) training is provided over four days and is scheduled from 9am - 5pm each day.

Our very popular and unique online ALF Core Training course allows trainees to complete the core training education required in Florida Statute 429.52 and Florida Administrative Code 59A-36.011 at their convenience.
